CONNIE CHIUME FOUNDATION APPOINTS NOTHANDO MABUZA AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Johannesburg, South Africa – The Connie Chiume Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Thando Mabuza as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately.

This historic appointment represents a powerful continuation of legacy, leadership, and generational growth. As the daughter of the late, legendary South African actress Connie Chiume, Thando brings both a deep personal connection and a strong professional vision to the Foundation’s mission of empowering emerging talent in the arts and film industry.

Thando is a seasoned actress and respected casting training facilitator with a proven track record in leadership, programme execution, and talent development. Her outstanding delivery of the 2025 Connie Chiume Student Film Festival demonstrated her ability to honour her mother’s legacy while expanding opportunities for young creatives.

Having worked closely with the late Connie Chiume in establishing the Foundation, and having served as both a Director and Executive Committee member, Thando possesses extensive institutional knowledge and a strong alignment with the Foundation’s values and long-term objectives.

Ms Theresa Vivian Moila will continue to serve as Chairperson of the Board.
