Our Story

Connie Chiume Foundation - Interview

For over 40 years, Ms. Connie Chiume has been a shining light in the South African acting industry, appearing in over 30 TV shows, dramas, and features, including the blockbuster Black Panther film and the Netflix TV series Queen Sono. Despite her success, Ms. Chiume is dedicated to giving back to the communities that have supported her throughout her career.

To do this, Ms. Connie Chiume established the Connie Chiume Foundation, a project that will provide workshops to educate and empower aspiring actors and theatrical practitioners from remote areas and rural regions outside Gauteng. Ms. Chiume is also committed to spotlighting the work of emerging and legendary performers, providing a platform for their stories to be shared, and inspiring the youth to persevere in the face of adversity. Every year, Ms. Chiume will travel the nation,  spreading optimism and inspiring hope to aspiring performers, their communities, and their families.

The Connie Chiume Foundation is an initiative that will bring real change to South African theater and acting, and Ms. Chiume is determined to make a difference. With her passion and commitment, she is sure to make a lasting impact on the lives of those she touches.
